Number of concurrent connections

The number of concurrent connections SilverSHielD can accept varies depending on the SilverSHielD version you are running:

  • If you’re running the free version (only for personal use) SilverSHielD will only accept up to 3 concurrent connections coming from a single (1) IP address at a time
  • If you’re running a licensed version (non-personal use allowed) then there is no hard-coded limit to the number of concurrent connections it can accept, but it is possible to set a limit via Management Console, and of course you will also need to keep into account the performance limits of your hardware

Mapping a user’s home directory to a network share

By design SilverSHielD only accepts local folders (folders located in local logical volumes) as user’s root folder.

Thus, for example:

  • D:\MySFTP\MyUserData is a valid root folder
  • \\sftpdata.mycompany.loc\MyUserData is not a valid root folder

Some users have reported the need to map SilverSHielD users’ root folders to a shared folder located elsewhere on the network (for example on a file server, a NAS or a SAN). Read more
